Bangladesh Gold Price Soars to Tk234,038 Amid Market Volatility
The price of gold in Bangladesh has surged, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) increasing the price of 22-carat gold by Tk4,374 per bhori within a day. According to a BAJUS notice issued on Saturday, August 8, 2026, the new rate for one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold is set at Tk234,038, including VAT.
This price hike comes just a day after BAJUS cut gold prices on August 7, reducing the price of 22-carat gold by Tk3,266 to Tk229,664 per bhori, including VAT. The association said the increase is due to higher market demand and revised rates accordingly.
The new prices are as follows: 21-carat gold costs Tk223,541 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk191,931. Gold produced using the traditional method costs Tk156,822 per bhori.
