Bangladesh Gold Prices Fall Amid BAJUS Announcement
On July 31, 2026, gold prices in Bangladesh were reduced according to an announcement by the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS). The new prices took effect on July 28, 2026. According to the announcement, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori was reduced by Tk2,216, from Tk223,074 to Tk220,858. The price of 21-carat gold per bhori was reduced by Tk2,100, from Tk213,043 to Tk210,943. Similarly, 18-carat gold per bhori was reduced by Tk1,750, from Tk182,950 to Tk181,200. Traditional gold per bhori was also reduced by Tk1,458, from Tk149,474 to Tk148,016.
The prices for different weights of gold are as follows: 22-carat gold costs Tk220,858 per bhori (11.664 grams), while 21-carat and 18-carat gold cost Tk210,943 and Tk181,200 respectively. Traditional gold costs Tk148,016 per bhori.
It's worth noting that buyers must pay more than the set price when purchasing gold jewelry due to a 5% VAT added to the fixed price for selling gold ornaments, as well as a minimum making charge of Tk3,500 per 'bhori' applied.
