Bangladesh Gold Prices Plummet to New Low
Gold prices in Bangladesh have fallen again, with the price of 22-carat gold decreasing by Tk 4,374 per bhori to Tk 231,880. The new prices were announced by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) on Wednesday, September 2, citing a decline in refined gold and silver prices as well as the overall market situation.
The latest reduction comes just two days after BAJUS cut the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 4,374 per bhori on August 31. Before that, on August 29, the association had reduced the price of 22-carat gold by another Tk 7,115 per bhori.
The prices for other types of gold and silver have also been lowered under the latest BAJUS decision. The price of 21-carat gold is now Tk 18,985 per gram, or Tk 221,441 per bhori, while 18-carat gold costs Tk 16,300 per gram, or Tk 190,123 per bhori.
