Bangladesh Gold Prices Plunge Tk 3,266 Per Bhori Amid Market Shifts
The Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (Bajus) has revised the gold prices in the country, citing a decline in the value of pure gold in the local market.
In a press release on Friday morning, Bajus announced that it was slashing the price of gold by Tk 3,266 per bhori within a single day.
The new tariff came into effect at 10:00 am on August 7, with consumers now paying Tk 2,29,664 including VAT for a 22-carat bhori (11.664 grams) of gold.
The revised pricing structure also affects other types of gold, with 21-carat gold selling for Tk 2,19,342 per bhori and traditional-method gold trading at Tk 1,53,148 per bhori, including VAT.
