Bangladesh Gold Prices Rise Again
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased gold prices in the country's domestic market for the 46th time this year. The price of 22-carat gold has risen by Tk 2,216 per bhori to Tk 223,074 per bhori (11.664 grams), including VAT.
According to BAJUS, the new prices came into effect at 10:00 a.m. on Monday morning. The association stated that it revised gold prices considering the overall market situation in the country.
The price of pure gold has increased in the local market. Under the new price list, 22-carat gold will cost Tk 223,074 per bhori, while 21-carat gold is now priced at Tk 213,043 per bhori and 18-carat gold at Tk 182,950 per bhori.
Gold made under the traditional method has been priced at Tk 149,474 per bhori. BAJUS stated that making charges will vary depending on the design of the jewellery, but VAT is already included in the retail price of gold and silver ornaments.
