Bangladesh Gold Prices Rise as BAJUS Announces New Rates

The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has announced an increase in gold prices in the local bullion market, effective from September 12, 2026. According to the notice, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori has been increased by Tk 1,050, from Tk 2,31,880 to Tk 2,32,930. The price of 21-carat gold per bhori has also seen a rise of Tk 1,050, now at Tk 2,22,491. Similarly, the price of 18-carat gold per bhori has increased by Tk 933, from Tk 1,90,123 to Tk 1,91,056. Traditional (Sonaton) gold per bhori has seen a rise of Tk 758, now at Tk 1,56,064.

The prices for different quantities of gold are as follows: 22-carat gold is priced at Tk 2,32,930 per bhori, while 21-carat gold costs Tk 2,22,491. 18-carat gold is priced at Tk 1,91,056 per bhori. Traditional (Sonaton) gold is priced at Tk 1,56,064 per bhori.

It's worth noting that buyers must pay more than the set price when purchasing gold jewelry due to a 5% VAT added for selling gold ornaments and a minimum making charge of Tk 3,500 per 'bhori' applied.
