Bangladesh Gold Prices Skyrocket Again with 22-Carat Hike
The prices of gold in Bangladesh have increased for the second time this month. According to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS), the price of 22-carat gold has risen by Tk 5,482 per bhori to Tk 246,110 including VAT.
This increase took effect at 10:00am on Saturday and follows a previous hike of Tk 3,849 per bhori just two days prior. The BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring made the decision at a meeting on Saturday.
The prices of other types of gold have also increased, including 21-carat gold by Tk 5,249 to Tk 235,030 per bhori, and 18-carat gold by Tk 4,491 to Tk 201,846 per bhori. Traditional-method gold has seen a price increase of Tk 3,616 to Tk 164,812 per bhori.
