Bangladesh Gold Prices Soar Amid BAJUS Price Hike
The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced an increase in gold prices for Sunday, August 9, 2026. The new prices will take effect starting today. According to BAJUS, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 4,374 taka, from the previous price of 2,29,664 taka to the new price of 2,34,038 taka.
The price of 21-carat gold per bhori has also been increased by 4,199 taka, from the previous price of 2,19,342 taka to the new price of 2,23,541 taka. Similarly, the price of 18-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 3,557 taka, from the previous price of 1,88,374 taka to the new price of 1,91,931 taka.
Additionally, traditional (Sonaton) gold per bhori has been increased by 3,674 taka, from the previous price of 1,53,148 taka to the new price of 1,56,822 taka. Gold prices in Bangladesh are typically measured in bhori, which is equivalent to 11.664 grams.
