Bangladesh Gold Prices Soar Amid Refined Gold Cost Hike
Gold prices in Bangladesh have surged again due to an increase in refined gold costs. From Monday, 22-carat gold now costs Tk223,074 per bhori (11.664 grams), a rise of Tk2,216 from the previous price.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) is responsible for revising and publishing the official gold prices in the country.
According to BAJUS, the newly revised rates for other gold categories are as follows:
21-carat: Tk213,043
18-carat: Tk182,950
Traditional gold: Tk149,474
It's essential to note that these prices already include VAT and buyers should not be charged extra VAT by jewellers. However, separate making charges will apply based on the design of the jewellery.
