Bangladesh Gold Prices Surge as BAJUS Announces New Rates

The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has announced an increase in gold prices for the local bullion market, effective from August 15, 2026. According to the new prices, 22-carat gold per bhori has increased by 2,158 taka, from 2,34,621 taka to 2,36,779 taka.

Similarly, 21-carat gold per bhori has risen by 2,100 taka, from 2,24,065 taka to 2,26,165 taka. The price of 18-carat gold per bhori has increased by 1,808 taka, from 1,92,398 taka to 1,94,206 taka.

Traditional (Sonaton) gold per bhori has also seen an increase of 1,458 taka, from 1,57,172 taka to 1,58,630 taka. Buyers must pay more than the set price when purchasing gold jewelry, as a 5% VAT is added to the fixed price for selling gold ornaments.
