Bangladesh Gold Prices Surge Following Latest Rate Hike
On August 16, 2026, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced an increase in gold prices in the local bullion market. The new prices take effect from Saturday, August 15, 2026. According to the announcement, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 2,158 taka, from 2,34,621 taka to 2,36,779 taka.
The price of 21-carat gold per bhori has also increased by 2,100 taka, from 2,24,065 taka to 2,26,165 taka. Similarly, the price of 18-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 1,808 taka, from 1,92,398 taka to 1,94,206 taka.
Traditional (Sonaton) gold per bhori has been increased by 1,458 taka, from 1,57,172 taka to 1,58,630 taka. The new prices are as follows: 22-carat gold is priced at BDT 2,36,779 for a 11.664-gram unit, while 21-carat gold costs BDT 2,26,165 per unit.
