The price of gold in Bangladesh remained unchanged on Sunday despite a recent increase. On Friday, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced a hike in gold prices by Tk 2,216 per bhori.

The new rate for 22-carat gold was set at Tk 223,074 per bhori, effective from 10:00 am on Friday. This increase was due to a rise in the price of refined gold (pure gold) in the local market.

Bajus stated that these prices will remain valid until further notice at all jewellery shops across the country.

The price of silver, however, remained unchanged in the local market. The current rates are Tk 4,607 per bhori for 22-carat silver and Tk 2,858 per bhori for traditional method silver.
