Bangladesh Government Approves $28 LNG Cargo Purchases to Meet Energy Demand
The Bangladesh government has approved the purchase of four liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes to meet growing energy demand. The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase cleared the proposals during a meeting, with three of the cargoes acquired through an international Request for Quotation process and the fourth sourced from Aramco Trading Singapore under a government-to-government agreement.
The 49th LNG cargo will be supplied by Aramco Trading Singapore at $27.54 per MMBtu on September 25-26, while the 50th cargo will be purchased from BP Singapore Pte Ltd at $28.03 per MMBtu on October 1-2.
The committee also approved the procurement of another LNG cargo from Aramco Trading Singapore at $23.98 per MMBtu, to be delivered on September 10.
