Bangladesh Government Approves Six LNG Cargoes Procurement
The government of Bangladesh has approved plans to procure six liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes to meet the country's growing energy demand. This decision was made at the 44th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase, which took place on September 14, 2026.
Under the proposals approved by the committee, two LNG cargoes will be procured through an international quotation process (Request for Quotation, International) in accordance with Rule 105(3)(a) of the Public Procurement Rules 2025. The quoted prices for these cargoes ranged from $28.95 to $29.795 per MMBtu.
For the two LNG cargoes scheduled for delivery on October 9-10 and October 27-28, 2026, Total Energies Gas & Power Ltd, UK, quoted $28.95 per MMBtu for the 52nd cargo, while Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore, quoted $29.795 per MMBtu for the 56th cargo.
In addition to these two cargoes, two more will be procured from DARAB Inc., USA, through direct procurement at $17.00 per MMBtu and two from Mind Mingle LLC, USA, also through direct procurement at $19.00 per MMBtu.
