Bangladesh Jewellers Association Raises Gold Price by Tk 1,633 Per Bhori
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has increased the price of gold in the domestic market. The new rate for 22-carat gold is Tk 2,47,743 per bhori (11.664 grams), which includes VAT and is effective from 10am on Tuesday.
This hike follows a previous adjustment on August 22, when the rate of 22-carat gold was increased by Tk 5,482 per bhori to Tk 2,46,110, including VAT. The new prices will remain in effect at all jewellery shops until further notice, with making charges applying depending on jewellery design.
The association also stated that its existing rules on making charges, wastage, and stone deductions will remain unchanged for ornament exchange and purchase.
