Bangladesh Jewellers Association Raises Gold Prices for 115th Time This Year
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has raised gold prices for the 115th time this year, increasing the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 1,050 per bhori to Tk 2,32,930 including VAT.
This latest adjustment comes into effect from 10:00 am on Saturday following a notification issued by BAJUS. The association stated that the increase was made in line with changes in the local market price of refined gold.
Under the new rates, 21-carat gold is priced at Tk 2,22,490 per bhori, while 18-carat gold costs Tk 1,91,056 per bhori. Gold produced through the traditional method is priced at Tk 1,56,064 per bhori.
This decision comes just a day after BAJUS cut the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,158 per bhori to Tk 2,31,880. Prior to this, the association had reduced the price by Tk 1,108 per bhori on September 9 to Tk 2,34,038.
BAJUS has adjusted gold prices multiple times in recent weeks, including a cut of Tk 4,374 on September 2 to Tk 2,31,880 and an increase of Tk 5,482 per bhori on September 3 to Tk 2,37,362. The association has revised silver prices 69 times this year, with 35 increases and 34 decreases.
