Bangladesh LNG Terminals Resume Gas Supply Amid Crisis
The ongoing gas crisis in Bangladesh may soon ease as two floating LNG terminals have resumed gas supply to the national grid. According to Petrobangla sources, Summit and Excelerate Energy's terminals are now supplying around 760 million cubic feet (mmcf) of LNG-derived gas per day.
This is a significant increase from the previous level, which fell to around 1,650 mmcf due to technical issues at Excelerate's terminal. The disruption caused by the shutdown has been partially mitigated with the resumption of supply from both terminals.
Summit initially supplied about 110 mmcf but gradually increased its volume throughout the night, eventually reaching around 460 mmcf on Saturday morning. Excelerate's terminal also resumed supply later that night and is currently supplying around 300 mmcf of gas to the national grid.
