Bangladesh Raises LPG Prices Amid Global Gas Market Disruptions

The government of Bangladesh has increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for August. A standard 12-kilogram LPG cylinder will now cost BDT 1,598 at the consumer level, up from BDT 1,528.

This change is due to ongoing disruptions in the Middle East and damage to a floating LNG terminal in Maheshkhali, which has affected global gas markets. The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new prices on August 2, stating that they will remain in effect until further notice.
