Bangladesh Secures 117-Year LNG Deal Amid Global Gas Disruptions
Bangladesh has secured a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with US-based Gunvor to cover 117 cargoes between 2026 and 2038.
The deal, which was approved by the Bangladeshi government on Wednesday, includes five cargoes in 2026, six in 2027, and six in 2028. The first three years' deliveries will be priced at the US Henry Hub benchmark plus 8.75 cents per million British thermal units.
The remaining cargoes, starting from 2029 through 2038, will be priced at 121% of the US Henry Hub benchmark plus $5.20 per mmBtu. The agreement also includes eight additional LNG cargoes through direct procurement.
