Bangladesh Secures Long-Term LNG Deal Amid Global Gas Disruptions
Bangladesh has secured a long-term liquefied natural gas supply agreement with US-based Gunvor, covering 117 cargoes between 2026 and 2038. The deal aims to mitigate disruptions in global gas markets caused by the US-Israeli conflict with Iran.
The state-to-state agreement includes five cargoes in 2026, six in 2027, and six in 2028, priced at the Japan Korea Marker index plus 8.75 cents per million British thermal units.
Cargoes in 2029 through 2038 will be priced at 121% of the US Henry Hub benchmark plus $5.20 per mmBtu.
