Bangladesh Seeks Gas from Myanmar through Pipeline

Bangladesh's Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood met with Myanmar Ambassador U Kyaw Soe Moe to discuss importing natural gas from Myanmar through a pipeline. The minister expressed Bangladesh's substantial domestic demand for natural gas and its keen interest in importing it from Myanmar.

The meeting between the two sides was positive, with both countries showing interest in reviving previous discussions on constructing a pipeline from Myanmar to Chattogram. The energy minister proposed a meeting between the respective energy ministers of the two countries to accelerate bilateral discussions in the energy sector.
