Barrick Gold Stock Tied to Global Gold Market as Revenue Declines
Barrick Gold's stock performance is closely tied to the global gold market. The Canadian miner reported annual results for fiscal 2024, which showed lower revenue compared to the previous year due to slightly lower gold and copper sales volumes and lower average realized prices.
The company reported revenue of around $11 billion in fiscal 2024, down from approximately $11.5 billion in fiscal 2023, a decline of about 4% year-over-year. Net earnings attributable to shareholders remained in the low single digit billions of dollars, illustrating that despite a softer revenue line, the group continues to generate meaningful profitability.
Barrick Gold's total gold production for fiscal 2024 was slightly below the prior year, which is consistent with the lower revenue and profit metrics. The company has set out production guidance for the coming periods, aiming to stabilize or cautiously grow output relative to fiscal 2024 levels.
