Basrah Crude Prices Surge as Global Oil Benchmarks Recover
Basrah crude oil prices rose sharply on Tuesday, driven by a recovery in global oil benchmarks. Basrah Heavy, one of Iraq's key crude grades, jumped more than 7% to $80.43 per barrel.
The price increase was fueled by gains in Brent crude, which climbed 1.2% to $91.54 a barrel, and U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI), which gained 1.5% to around $87.03.
Murban crude also rose, increasing to $98.45 per barrel, while the OPEC basket stood at $89.59, up 2.61%. The gains in Basrah crude prices follow a trend of rising oil prices globally, driven by increased demand and supply constraints.
