Bayer Targets 10 Blockbuster Products in Seed, Crop Protection Pipeline
Bayer is accelerating its seed and crop protection innovation pipeline, targeting 10 blockbuster products over the next decade. The company has already commercialized two major products: Plenexos insecticide and the Preceon Smart Corn System.
The Preceon Smart Corn System, featuring short-stature corn, has begun delivering benefits to farmers in Mexico, Italy, Spain, and the US. Bayer aims to reach 26 million acres of market penetration by 2035 with this system.
Plenexos insecticide is designed to control a broad spectrum of sucking pests and has been introduced in Colombia. Launches are planned for Mexico, Brazil, and the US, where farmers can use up to 75% less active ingredient compared to certain existing products.
