Beetaloo Basin Project Takes Major Leap Forward
Formentera Partners and Daly Waters Energy have marked a significant milestone in their Beetaloo Basin project, starting natural gas commissioning at the Sturt Plateau Compression Facility (SPCF). This final piece of infrastructure is crucial to delivering gas from the Beetaloo Basin to the Northern Territory's population. The SPCF will enable the flow of natural gas, meeting the energy needs of local people and businesses.
The partnership between Formentera Partners and INPEX has been instrumental in advancing this project. Their collaboration brings together expertise in shale technology and global LNG capabilities, positioning Australia to become a major player in the natural gas market. The joint venture aims to establish a new domestic gas source for Australia, supporting future exports to premium markets.
The commissioning of the SPCF is also expected to facilitate drilling operations in the Beetaloo Basin. Formentera Partners has contracted an H&P FlexRig from Helmerich & Payne (NYSE: HP) for this purpose. The rig's arrival in the second quarter of 2027 will enable the partners to accelerate appraisal and development activities.
