Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Agriculture and Food Minister Yuri Gorlov to discuss the country's harvest prospects. The report highlighted a significant increase in grain yields, with an expected total of 9m tonnes, including a record-breaking rapeseed yield of approximately 1.5m tonnes.
The corn harvest is also showing promising results, with plans aiming for 2.5m tonnes. The combined harvest of grain, rapeseed, and corn is estimated to be around 11.5m tonnes. Deliveries of grain for the state order are progressing ahead of schedule, with full completion expected by September 1st.
The regions have actively begun sowing winter crops, with good progress made in the Vitebsk Region despite its more northern climate. In terms of livestock farming, the report noted strict compliance with technological and operational discipline, as well as efforts to reduce cattle mortality.
