Bell Takes Lead in Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol
The NASCAR Cup Series returned to Iowa Speedway on August 9 for the Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol. Ryan Blaney led the field to green after earning his third pole position of the season.
Christopher Bell emerged as the driver to beat in the final stage, having won Stage 2 and led the majority of the race's middle portion. Ryan Blaney claimed the Stage 1 victory after leading all 70 laps from the pole.
The championship contenders had a tough day, with Tyler Reddick's afternoon ending just four laps into the race after contact with Erik Jones sent both drivers hard into the outside wall in Turn 1. Reddick was credited with a 36th-place finish, his second DNF of the season, while Jones finished 35th.
