Bharatpur Gas Pipeline Rupture Disrupts PNG Supplies
A major gas pipeline rupture in Bharatpur has disrupted piped natural gas (PNG) supplies to seven districts of Rajasthan and 22 stations in Fatehpur Sikri, Uttar Pradesh.
The incident occurred when a JCB machine hit the high-pressure steel track gas pipeline during road construction work on Bajhera-Aghanera Road. The damage caused a major leak, prompting authorities to suspend gas supplies immediately.
The affected districts in Rajasthan include Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Tonk, and Dausa. Gas supply was halted due to the pipeline damage, affecting approximately 6,000 domestic PNG consumers in Bharatpur city.
Sandeep Soni, Regional Manager of the gas company, stated that repair work on the damaged high-pressure pipeline is proceeding on a war footing, with the technical team working continuously on-site to restore gas supply as quickly as possible.
