Binance Enters Commodities Market with Gold, Silver Options
Binance, one of the world's leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has expanded its offerings beyond digital assets into traditional financial markets. The exchange has launched gold and silver options settled in USDT, allowing users to trade commodity price movements without owning the underlying assets.
The new contracts are European-style options, which can only be exercised at expiry. They are available on gold (XAUUSDT) and silver (XAGUSDT) with one-day and one-week expiries. The launch adds commodity derivatives to Binance's product suite, enabling users to trade both crypto and commodity options from a single account.
The contracts are cash settled in USDT, removing the need for traders to hold the underlying commodity. Each daily expiry offers around 10 strike prices, while weekly contracts provide about 12 strike prices. The exchange has also introduced a promotional fee structure with maker fees at 0% and taker fees at 0.020%, which will remain in place until further notice.
