BioLargo Partners with Fort McKay Oil Services on Indigenous-Led Water Treatment Venture

BioLargo Canada and Fort McKay Oil Services have formed a strategic partnership to develop treatment solutions for oil sands process water (OSPW) in northern Alberta. The new venture, Tũ Nipi Water Solutions Ltd., is led by First Nations and has BioLargo holding a minority stake.

The partnership is backed by a conditional grant commitment from Emissions Reduction Alberta, supporting a $4.6 CAD million project with commercial trials already underway in the region. This collaboration aims to utilize BioLargo's advanced water treatment technologies to address OSPW and industrial wastewater issues in Athabasca.
