Bitcoin Stalls Near $64,000 Amid Gains in U.S. Stocks and Gold Prices
Bitcoin has failed to establish a clear direction near $64,000 despite gains in U.S. stocks and gold prices. According to Cointelegraph, bitcoin remained stagnant at around $64,000 when Wall Street opened on August 5.
The contrast between bitcoin's price action and the rise of gold and U.S. stocks is notable. Gold rose 2.8 percent to $4,213 an ounce, its highest since June 22, driven by demand from China. Chinese spot gold ETFs recorded net inflows for 14 consecutive trading sessions.
U.S. stocks also extended their gains, with the S&P 500 index reaching a record high of 7,793 intraday on August 5. However, bitcoin did not participate in this risk-on move, with market participants viewing $64,000 as a key short-term price level.
