Black Bayou Energy Hub Pours $1.6 Billion into Louisiana LNG Expansion
Black Bayou Energy Hub is expanding its operations in Louisiana with a $1.6 billion investment, which will create 58 new job opportunities and support the growth of the state's LNG corridor.
The project includes expanding the company's headquarters in Lafayette and developing natural gas infrastructure in Cameron Parish, centered on the Black Bayou salt dome.
Commercial operations are expected to begin in late 2028, with construction set to start in the fourth quarter of 2026. The investment is expected to create 23 direct new jobs and retain five existing positions, with an additional 35 indirect new jobs estimated by Louisiana Economic Development.
'Louisiana doesn't just produce energy, we build the infrastructure that makes America's energy economy possible,' Governor Jeff Landry said.
