Blues Leadership Group Features Strong Alberta Presence
The St. Louis Blues have announced their leadership group for the upcoming season, and it's filled with players from Alberta.
Two members of the team, Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg, were named assistant captains after joining the Blues two years ago through an offer sheet.
Holloway has appeared in 136 games, scoring 46 goals and 114 points, while Broberg has racked up 14 goals and 63 points in 149 games. He will be wearing his second 'A' this season.
The team's captain, Robert Thomas, does not have any ties to Edmonton beyond sharing a name with someone from the city. The rest of the leadership group includes defenceman Colton Parayko from St. Albert and Jake Neighbours from Airdrie, who played his WHL seasons for the Edmonton Oil Kings.
The team's general manager, Alex Steen, said that 'leadership is a group thing, a group dynamic' and that the players have to lean on each other to grow strength within the locker room.
