BP Accelerates Gas Production in Egypt's West Nile Delta
BP has begun producing natural gas from the Fayoum 4 well in Egypt's West Nile Delta, adding 80 million cubic feet per day to the country's domestic gas output.
The production start is two years ahead of schedule and reflects BP's accelerated development programme and utilisation of existing infrastructure.
BP carried out a successful exploration campaign in 2025 that led to the discovery of the well, followed by its development and connection to the West Nile Delta gas processing facilities through the Giza-Fayoum pipeline.
The well's production has been maximised with the help of innovative engineering solutions and sidetracking to reach new reservoir layers at depths of around 3,000 metres.
