BP Azerbaijan Reports Stable Oil Production at ACG Field Block
BP Azerbaijan's operational report for January-June 2026 revealed that oil production at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field block remained stable at around 59 million barrels. This is almost unchanged compared to the same period in 2025, when ACG produced about 59 million barrels of oil.
The average daily production at ACG decreased by 1.2% from 327,000 to 323,000 barrels per day. The Chirag platform saw a significant drop in output, averaging just 19,300 barrels compared to 21,000 barrels in the same period last year.
However, some production areas within ACG showed an increase in output. Central Azeri production rose to 88,000 barrels from 86,000, while East Azeri production reached 45,000 barrels from 42,000. Deepwater Gunashli output fell to 47,000 barrels from 54,000.
The project's spending in the first half of 2026 totaled $1.001 billion, a significant increase of about 22.7% compared to the same period last year. Operating expenses rose by 3.5% to $268 million, while capital expenditures jumped by 31.6% to $733 million.
