BP Brings Fayoum Well Online, Boosts Egypt's Gas Output
BP has brought its Fayoum well online, adding 80 million cubic feet of gas per day to Egypt's grid. The well was discovered during a 2025 BP exploration campaign in the West Nile Delta, a group of gas fields located in Egyptian territorial waters.
BP operates the West Nile Delta facilities with an 82.75 percent stake, while Britain's Harbour Energy holds the remaining 17.25 percent.
The Fayoum well connection to existing processing facilities was made via the Giza-Fayoum pipeline using engineering solutions that accelerated domestic natural gas production at a lower cost.
BP connected the well without drilling a separate new well, utilizing a bypass drilled in July that can reach depths of over 3,000 meters.
