Brazil Sets Record Grain Harvest Amid Gains in Key Crops
Brazil's agricultural sector is set to reap a record harvest in the 2025/26 crop year, according to Conab. The country's food supply and crop agency estimates that grain production will reach 361.7 million metric tons, up 2.6% from the previous season.
The increase is mainly driven by gains in soybeans, corn, and cotton. Soybean output has hit an all-time high of 180.4 million metric tons, with exports projected at a record 116.2 million metric tons.
Conab's estimate also shows that corn production will reach 144 million metric tons, up 2% from the previous season. Cotton output is forecast at 4.14 million metric tons, the highest volume in the historical series.
However, bean and rice crops are expected to decline due to lower planted areas. Bean production is estimated at 2.95 million metric tons, down 3.6% from the previous season, while rice output is forecast at 11.08 million metric tons, down 13.2%.
