Brazil's Corn Export Pace Falls Behind Last Year's Levels

Brazil's corn export pace has fallen behind last year's levels in early September. According to data from Secex, Brazil exported 1.127 million tonnes of corn from September 1 to 4, compared to 7.563 million tonnes for the entire month of August 2025.

This slower export pace is a significant trend as Brazil is a major global corn exporter. The short-term tightening of global corn supplies is expected to support international corn prices and raise domestic import costs.

As a result, both domestic spot and futures corn prices are likely to rise. This development is particularly relevant given the recent decline in Brazil's corn exports in August 2026, which saw a sharp year-on-year drop.
