Brazil's Oil and Gas Production Hits 5.8 Million Boe/D in July

The Brazilian National Petroleum Agency (ANP) released production data for July 2026, showing that oil and gas extraction in the country reached 5.851 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d). This marks a slight increase from the previous month and is 13.6% higher than the same period last year.

Oil production specifically rose to 4.498 million barrels per day, up 0.5% from June but still behind July 2025's levels. Natural gas output stood at 214.97 million cubic meters per day, a decrease of 1.1% compared to May but 12.6% higher than the same month in 2025.

The pre-salt layer accounted for 82.4% of Brazilian production, with total oil and gas output reaching 4.821 million boe/d. This represents an increase of 0.3% from June and 18.2% compared to July 2025. Of the wells in operation during this time, 98.1% were offshore fields.
