Brazil's Weather Worries Could Give U.S. Corn a Boost
Weather challenges in South America could boost commodity prices for U.S. farmers this fall.
A market analyst believes that abnormally wet conditions in some parts of Brazil will impact corn production, particularly in the southern region where the first crop is typically planted.
Jeff Peterson from Heartland Farm Partners says that if planting is delayed or reduced in these areas, it could have a positive effect on the U.S. corn market.
In addition to weather concerns, Brazil's reliance on its own domestic ethanol production may lead to increased demand for U.S. corn exports.
