Brent crude prices have surged past $100 per barrel as tensions in the Middle East escalate.

The latest conflict has pushed the front-month Brent crude futures up by nearly 3%, reaching $100.66 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate is also experiencing a surge, hovering at levels last touched in early June.

The renewed hostilities have global implications, particularly as attacks in the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz, critical oil passageways, raise concerns over stability in oil flow.
