Brent Crude Tops $100 per Barrel as Oil Prices Continue to Climb
Oil prices continued to rise on Wednesday, reaching their highest settlement level since late May. Brent crude futures surged above $100 a barrel, settling at $101.21 after touching an intraday high of $101.58. This marks a gain of $3.29, or 3.4%, for the nearest delivery month.
US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures also advanced, rising by $3.02, or 3.25%, to settle at $96.05 a barrel. Both benchmarks have posted their highest settlement prices since May 22.
