Calgary Companies Receive $15M in ERA Funding for Clean Tech Projects
Seven Calgary-based companies have secured funding from Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) to advance various clean technologies. The combined $15.1 million investment forms part of ERA's latest $51-million funding portfolio, which supports 16 projects valued at nearly $180 million across Alberta.
The largest recipient is EnerPure, receiving $6.2 million toward a commercial facility that will recycle used motor oil into low-sulphur marine fuel. Qube Technologies was awarded $2.55 million to enhance its continuous emissions-monitoring platform, which combines sensors and artificial intelligence to detect methane and other greenhouse-gas emissions.
Athabasca Asphalt Company is receiving $2.26 million to develop a facility that will produce high-performance asphalt binder from Alberta bitumen. The proposed process eliminates water use while simplifying conventional asphalt production.
