The National Economic and Financial Committee (CNEF) has released its first-quarter economic report for Cameroon, predicting a slowdown in growth due to the departure of the Hilli Episeyo floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) vessel in July 2026.

The CNEF forecasts that the vessel's exit will reduce LNG exports and weaken growth, leading to an economic expansion rate of 3.2% in 2026, down from 3.5% in 2025.

The oil sector is expected to contract sharply in 2026 and 2027, subtracting 0.4 percentage point from overall GDP growth in both years.
