In response to criticism from the US, Chrystia Freeland, the former Canadian foreign minister, said that 'sweet talk doesn't work' with America and that 'the only language they understand is force.'
Meanwhile, Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew expressed support for an oil pipeline between Alberta and Ontario, saying it's an opportunity for economic development.
Economist Peter Navarro, who advises Trump on trade matters, accused Canada of having a 'protectionist system' that discriminates against American farmers and workers.
