Canada's Non-US Exports See Growth, But Largely Due to Shift Away From US
Newfoundland and Labrador led Canada in increasing exports to countries other than the U.S. in 2025, with over 30% growth in value.
The province's crude oil shipments to Europe accounted for most of this growth, with $6.77 billion worth of oil exported in the first 11 months of 2025, and two-thirds going to countries other than the U.S.
Alberta also saw significant gains from shipping oil to China, while Ontario's non-U.S. exports were driven by gold sales to the United Kingdom at record-high prices.
