Hardisty, Alberta is a small town with a population of just 623 people. However, its importance to Canada's oil industry cannot be overstated.

The town is home to a vast industrial complex known as 'the Hill,' which contains about 100 dome-capped oil storage tanks and subterranean caverns that can hold up to 38 million barrels of oil.

According to Invest Alberta, the town exports around $501 million worth of oil daily, or approximately $180 billion annually.

This has a significant impact on Canada's economy, with billions in tax revenues and oil-related royalties flowing back to the Alberta government and Ottawa.
