Canada's Trade Surplus Hits Four-Year High on Strong Gold and Copper Exports
Canada's merchandise trade surplus in goods reached a four-year high of C$3.86 billion in June, driven by record exports valued at C$77.5 billion.
The monthly increase was led by stronger shipments of gold and copper, while energy exports declined due to eased commodity prices and reduced tensions in the Middle East.
Excluding gold and copper, exports fell by as much as 3% on the month, with the energy segment down 10%.
