Canadian Grain Deliveries See Decline Amidst Stronger Year-Over-Year Figures
The Canadian Grain Commission released its weekly grain statistics for the week ending August 16, 2026. Total producer deliveries reached 903.3 thousand tonnes, down from 941.3 thousand tonnes in the previous week but significantly higher than the 1,118.5 thousand tonnes delivered during the same week last year.
Terminal receipts totaled 940.9 thousand tonnes, a decrease from 1,195.0 thousand tonnes in the prior week, while exports amounted to 703.1 thousand tonnes, down from 1,023.5 thousand tonnes week-over-week. Domestic disappearance was reported at 489.9 thousand tonnes, slightly above the 471.6 thousand tonnes recorded a week earlier.
Commercial stocks as of August 16, 2026, stood at 5,322.8 thousand tonnes, compared with 5,550.7 thousand tonnes at the end of the previous week. The breakdown by grain type shows wheat stocks at 2,381.6 thousand tonnes, canola at 709.6 thousand tonnes, and barley at 247.3 thousand tonnes.
