Canadian Natural Gas Prices Plummet Below $1/MMBtu Through 2027

Western Canadian natural gas forward prices have continued to fall, dipping below $1/MMBtu for some major hubs through 2027. According to recent data, this decline is attributed to persistent supply pressure in the region.

The Westcoast Station 2, a key hub in Western Canada, has seen its price slip below $1. This trend also extends to other major hubs, including AECO, which remains discounted into 2027.

Despite expected increases in LNG exports, which should boost demand, the region's natural gas supply continues to outpace consumption. As a result, forward prices have been unable to recover.
